Natasha stood in the shop, smiling happily. Felix had gone out without her, so she went out without him. Her long dark hair was swept up into a ponytail, and she wore the usual, flimsy black skirt that came down to her knees. This time however, she wore a halter top, also black, and a decorative silver belt. She felt pretty, and was happy. Though she did have her reasons for going out, she needed supplies. And that was how she’d ended up here. Natasha held up the unearthly green pillar candle, and smiled. Good for summoning, though she didn’t really need to summon anything. After all, why would you summon a spirit, when you had a demon? She set it down and resumed her search for unscented black taper candles. They shouldn’t have been too hard to find. Oh, and she’d also need more red candles. Blood could be added to the wax for certain spells, and that would come in handy. “red, black, anything else…” she murmured, looking around. She had access to her parents money still, saying she was traveling the world with her wealthy and extravagant boyfriend. They were used to this from their other children, and didn’t question it. of course, being the sort of superstitious folk that they were, her money would get cut off if they EVER found out the truth. “There we go!” she said happily, picking up a rather nice sized white pillar candle. These were nice for lots of things, since white could be substituted for every color but black. She gave it a sniff, than sighed. Scented. She needed unscented. Oh bother.

The scream of an Ethros demon could be heard as it shattered through a window. Before the demon could fall, its body busted into flames. Madax stuck his head through the window, watching the demon burn to ash. The store keeper looked in horror at the Old One. As the demon stepped towards him, he watched at the demon stuck his hand into his jacket. As the shop keep cowered in fear at whatever the demon was about to pull out, the Old One placed a wad of hundred dollar bills on the table.
“That should repair the damage…” he said, “I was wondering though…could you possibly tell me where a young girl who bough a candle from you went?”
The shop keep pointed to a door leading to the roof. The Old One nodded and replied by saying, “Thank you.” He then turned to make his way up to the rooftop. Within a few seconds of entering, the door leading to the roof busted open, flying all the way from the building and onto the streets. Madax stepped out to greet the young witch.
“Don’t you just hate locks?” He asked as he stepped onto the roof, looking at her. “I have a message for you’re demon master. Do you feel like being a good little girl scout witch and telling him for me?” His voice was one of dark origins, even as he was in his human form. His eyes gave her his true origins, and that he was not like the other demons, rather something pure and untainted. He stepped closer to her, giving off a dangerous aura that would have frightened any other person.

Natasha had just put the large red candle, and five thin black taper candles into her bag, along with a few other colors, when the display window beside her…
EXPLODED
She let out a shrill cry and looked around franticly, running towards the back. Behind a rack, she watched a man she recognized immediately as a demon step through the wreckage, after having just killed a demon like Felix. Ether demons? No…Etheros. She really needed to brush up on her knowledge; she had yet to replace most of her books from the fire.
A door handle pressed into her back and she hastily crawled through the door, stumbling up the stairs. Knife pierced her flesh as she went, etching a mindscream spell into her palm. Normally one would draw such a thing out, but she didn’t have time. pressing her hand to the back of her neck, she let out a loud…
CHRONOS
She knew he’d hear her, and only him, she’d done it once before. If he bothered to try, he could find her anywhere. She just hoped it would be fast enough. She turned around, moving on the roof so she was out of sight of the door, where she could hear him coming behind her.
Of course he’d seen her. She stood slowly and bit her lip, silently begging him not to kill her. He was too powerful for her to even try anything. “I’m not a girl scout.” She muttered under her breath. “and has not my master till he fulfills his half of our bargain.” She shivered at the sound of his voice. No mistaking it. if his eyes hadn’t given it away when he entered, the voice alone was enough. “What’s your message? And if I can get him to listen long enough to deliver it, I will.” She said, trying to sound unafraid, almost taunting. But she knew her eyes betrayed her terror.
Just as quickly, an idea came to mind. He could not see her hands. They were below the piping she’d ducked behind. On the white pipes she began to draw a fire spell, a powerfull one that could be aimed at a target, if they were within 20 feet of you. It was complicated, but she knew it by heart. She just hoped he couldn’t smell her blood.

Madax didn’t even have to look into her eyes to see that she was a scared witch trying to be brave. It was useless to hide one’s fear from the Old One. He could read someone like a book before they even knew what they felt themselves. He took a step towards her, watching her eyes softly. Those fear-filled eyes that told him everything, even about the fire spell. Madax could have easily manipulated the fire and have it consume her, but he needed her to give him a message.
“You do not need to act brave little one,” he said, acting as if he did not know about the fire spell, “I just want you to tell your demon friend that it will take more than just Hellhounds to take me down. Heck, the only person who could even help him now would be his master, and I banished him to another realm millions ago. Let him know that if he tried to attack me, or the Slayer again, then any Hell dimension that he knows of would be Heaven after what I do to him.”
A smile slowly curled itself across Madax’s face. It was sickening to believe that he was unbound by the soul’s control when it came to harming the guilty. And to think; an Old One such as him was unbound by the powers of anyone millions of years ago, and now he awakes to find that his powers are in check by a human’s soul. Madax closed his eyes, and slowly his body began to change from that of a human, to a demon with barely any human features. It was still humanoid in shape, and the face remained human, except the ears became pointy, the eyes became two yellow lights, save for the slight, snake-like pupils and the pointy set of fangs in his mouth. Two large, leathery blood-red wings began to expand from his back as his clothing seems to form against his body, and his hands from the forearms up became armored in brass, taloned-like gauntlets. His legs from the knees down to his feet became armored in the same brass-like material. The Old One let out a roar that could send shivers down the spine of the First itself, if it had a spine that is…
“Oh, and if he goes against me, or the Slayer again,” his voice more dark and demonic than ever, “I’ll see to it that you spend an eternity in pain.”

Natasha almost felt safer that he knew she was afraid, she believed he wouldn’t see her fire spell aimed at him. She added the circle in deliberate strokes, careful not to move her arms above the elbow. She let go of the brave front the moment he said anything, feeling as if she had no other choice; something about his voice. She listened to his words not sure what they meant. As she drew the final lines on the spell she spoke, like a child trying to remember its phone number.
“I am to tell my master Chonos, that a demon more powerful than even his masters warns him to not raise a hand against the slayer. Or he will suffer worse than even he could imagine.” She froze at what he looked like in his demon form, wide eyed with great terror; almost such that she looked about to cry. She dug her nails deep into her hand, trying to draw out more blood. She needed a more powerful spell. She burst into tears at his roar, shaking so violently her bones had to be rattling in her thin frame.
He spoke again, as she was drawing the last lines of the enhancement. She didn’t know if she could control this blast, but it was worth a try. And thank the stars it was invisible to mortal eyes, or they’d think a bomb went off. She stopped crying, stopped shaking when he ended his words. Felix wouldn’t care if she died, he’d attack anyways. The moment he stopped speaking, she lifted a bloodstained hand at him, calling again for Chronos to come. Faster, faster she needed him to get here. This spell would drain all of her energy and she hadn’t fed in two days…again.
“cruor INCENDIA*” she bellowed, blood dripping from her hand seemingly catching fire and tearing through the air with a loud cackling sound as any moisture was instantly dried up. She herself was blown back by the force of her attack, hitting her head on the edge of the roof and lying there helplessly, unable to move. She let out a sob, pessimism taking over. It had to have failed….
((OOC: *gotta love Latin “Blood fire”))

The blast lit up the shop’s roof as if it were a giant Roman Candle. Were he any other demon, Madax would have been incinerated, however his shell was hardened to the point that the only thing the blast did was knock him back a few feet. Even then, he managed to quickly regain balance. As the bright light finally begin to disappear, Madax stood, unscathed. His arms were crossed, and he looked down at his body, only dusty from the fire’s blast lifting dust into the air. He brushed away the dust on his chest with his left hand and then looked at the witch who stood on the ground, helpless.
“Were you trying to offer me something hot?” The Old One asked, his sense of humor being incredibly dry at that current moment, “Because if you were, then I have news for you.” He started walking over to the weakened witch, his advantage over her being more than easy. He could have killed her then and there, but he wasn’t. For a few reasons, but the main reason being he needed her. He knelt down on one knee beside her, his demon form so frightening when mixed with his shell’s form that it was as if he were the boogyman from children’s nightmares. As a matter of fact, in his time he was in fact just that, yet back then, nightmares were made real on earth.
“I am not your typical demon here little girl,” he said, “I am something much older and much more powerful than the common demon you find in a back alley. I am pretty much the father of all Old Ones. Lucky for you, I need you to send the message. I have other reasons to spare you, but the main one being I need you. Now be a good little girl and send that message.”
Madax stood up and started walking away from her. His wings expanded, and before he was about to fly away, he turned and smiled at the girl, his pearly white fangs flickering before the moonlight. Just as he was taking off, the appearance of the other demon caught Madax's attention. Softly, he landed and turned to face the demon himself.
"So," he spoke, "you're one of them? And what is you're rank in this army of Mathias'? Surely you couldn't be the high priest...could you?"

Post by Felix Arrios AKA Chronos on Sept 14, 2007 21:15:57 GMT -5
((I take said demon is me? If not, let meh know. ^^)) He had did his best to hid himself thus far. The cry of his Familiar human made him swear, scream and knock over a few things. (He had been in the Hotel, on the bed with closed eyes at the time). While the need to rip away her skin or cause some harm to her was great, he had become concerned with the tone of her cry. Twice it sounded... and he took off in mist form as quickly as possible.
And now before him in his hiding spot he saw just what she was crying about. And Old one...yikes. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that it was none other than Madax. This made his scowl and turn three sheets paler than he already was.
However, he refused to have Natasha die just yet and once the demon turned his back, he exited the partly melted vent to hover by her body. Just as the Old one turned, Chronos transformed.. and froze up as he was spoke to. With a sneer he turned.
"Arch Demon really.." he replied truthfully, but with a dry tone. He knelt down and placed a hand on Natasha's forehead. Stupid mortal would probably need medical treatment. His purple eyes shifted to Madax; he would have to be dealt with first and he stood.
"Lets keep this in the non-violent sort of way.. for now. Get the bloody facts straight." he snapped. "First off, I am Arch Demon Chronos. As for Mathias...." he growled, lips curling as he eyed the demon. He didn't want to give too much away. Perhaps the blunt truth and facts?
"I serve him, of course. Though that's a given.." He paused, thinking. His focus nutsed back to Natasha for a moment.
"So instead of using my Familiar as a messenger, she's become a bit of a beacon. And I heard what you wanted to tell me... like I said.. Orders. At least you know you're being hunted." He grinned a shark like grin but it was a grin that would not stay for long. d**n. d**n this situation... last time he left the girl run out by herself. They were not prepared. His eyes narrowed.
"I take you'd rather deal with us when you got the chance. Frankly, I'd love to deal with you and that blonde playtoy of yours, but now is not the time." and he raised a hand swiftly, calling out for a blasting shockwave to knock dust into the air.

The shock wave did little to nothing to harm Madax, but the more the demon tried to fight him, the more it would piss the Old One off. This rising dust would just make things worse too. Now Madax was hidden just like the demon and the witch was. Madax stood still, looking past the clouds of dust in the air.
“Where are you hiding common demon?” Madax spoke, walking through the dust, “The longer you hide, the worse it’ll get in the end. You’re master will never rise again, and I’ll see to it that he remains in the Quor-Toth forever!”
Madax looked around for the two, but a smile formed across his face. This could be interesting none the less. The more he thought of it, the better it would be in the end for the Lion to catch the two little mice. Madax let out another laugh, and his wings expanded again. With one leap, his body ascended into the air, leaving the two alone with the knowledge that he could have killed them, but did not.
“I’ll be back for you later!” The Old One’s voice said, fading away.
