The starry night was one of the many things that drew Madax to this holy place. Vatican City, the sights, the people, everything seemed to draw Madax closer and closer towards this holy place. He walked down the town on a starry night, gazing at a rosary that he had just recently purchased, how he got the money is of no real importance, the demon that he took it from got what was coming to him. For some reason, this cross with the tiny metal man on it seemed to fascinate the Old One for some odd reason, to him he believed it was a beautiful work of art. Something that he may keep with him.
His leather jacket was unzipped and the belt dangled freely against his tripp pants as he walked. He looked around, gazing at the odd sights, and walking around the city once, or twice before stopping in the street and taking a sigh. It was all something to take in. A few days ago he had come to terms with what he was now, and that he would always be like this, but he would spend his time trying to atone while he still had the time. It was then that he heard footsteps, and looked through the darkness to see who was there.
“If you’re looking for someone,” he said, “you do not need to follow me.”
This being had been on Madax’s trail since he arrived in Rome. It was now time they showed themselves, or die.

Rukia was following behide him but didn't say anything, she knew he was a demon and she was a vampire, she had only followed him to see what he was up to but seeing that he wasn't doing anything, not important anyway, Rukia had changed her mind and was about to walk away. The cross with the tiny metal man, didn't seem interesing to her. It was just a cross nothing more to her. Rukia stayed for one reason, why was he looking at the cross, sure he didn't like the vampires, but was he trying to find a way to kill them off? Rukia hid her neck less under her shirt to hid the cross, she didn't care much of her fellow vampires, but she would never try and kill them. Rukia stayed in hiding and said finally, "I am not looking for someone." Rukia watched him closely, she finally came out to show herself, if he wants a fight so be it, but Rukia herself didn't care for fights.

Madax only needed to smell out the person following them to see that they were a vampire. He turned, looking at the creature for the longest time after she had spoke to him. When Madax had finally spoke aloud, his first few words were, “I’m not the kind of creature that would quench your thirst vampire,” but then he noticed her expressions, a gift of Madax’ was his ability to read others emotions, “but from the aura you give off, I can tell you do not wish to fight. Why is that? I thought all vampires were souless creatures who kill and fight with a passion…” As he spoke, his voice was a void of emotion, yet it did hold a small hint of curiosity.
The Old One had hit that one right on the nail so far. All of the vampires he had met reminded him of the old one that created the vampire race. Feeding on the blood of the humans that were enslaved, and also killing with pleasure. It made him wonder how evil these vampires could be and if they dominated the other demon population, or not.

Rukia stared at him for a minute but didn't say anything, he could tell i didn't want to fight..... Ruika finally said, "Not all vampires, are the same." She watched him closely with out watching the neck less but keeping it hidden well. He didn't need to know what was on the neck less, yes she was different then those vampires, "I've just proved that." She added watching him though she couldn't help but wonder, was he going to try and kill them off, she would avoid a fight as much as possible but if he was even thinking of it Ruika was going to do what ever it takes to stop him. "Whats so interesting about that tiny metal man." She said back to him, her neck less almost came out but she fixed it fast.
Rukia though he could of read her mind before so she made her face blank when thinking, what is he up to, something about that tiny metal man, something he seems to like seeing, its metal i dislike metal, wearing the neck less only because my father gave it to me, i still wear it only because its the last thing to remember him by even though it doesn't sometimes burn my skin its not to bad unless the sun hits it, Rukia had those thoughts in her mind for one second before looking at the demon again.

Madax looked at the vampire a bit longer, reading her like a book. He could play Mr. Know-it-all on her, but first he would answer her question. He walked towards her, his human form making him look less dangerous than he really was. He observed her closely, curiously tracing her body with his eyes in search for some sort of answer to her actions, and reactions, and why she tried so hard to keep her necklace hidden. He looked at the rosary around his wrist, holding it up.
“I just find it fascinating for some reason,” he said, “the thought that one man could repay society for their sins by dieing on this object that these ancient Romans used to kill others is simply amazing. To sacrifice one’s life is said to be the ultimate heroic act a person can do, and anyone to do it is considered a hero’s hero. It isn’t just the artwork of this…crucifix…if that is how it is pronounced, but rather the thought behind what this person did for these humans which is amazing. That, and how you half breeds react ever so to it.”
He scanned her once more, detecting a hint of curiousness and a nervous feeling towards something she had hidden. “The necklace that you hide,” he said, “why do you protect it? Why do you hold on to it and cherish it when you have no real feelings to spare for the person who gave it to you? Even if you vampires are not all the same, the one thing you all have in common is no soul. Which leads me to my next question to why you do not fight like the others and rather choose to be of a peaceful sort? Is it possible for a vampire to obtain an invisible soul in which an old one such as I cannot smell out?”
All of these questions and more were building in Madax’s brain, but he would only ask her that question. Were he to ask her of all of the questions in his mind, she would surly be there for a while and probably be there by sun up, and when Madax finished she would be in dust.

Rukia was no fool about his question, she knew the sun would be coming soon so if he wanted the answer so badly she would just tell him, "The neck less isn't important, i just like hiding it." Rukia had lied and she knew he could tell. She then heard his answer, she was born a vampire it wasn't her not having a soul to care about it just not understanding it, the thoughts confused her some for a few minutes before she dropped the though. "Not all vampires want to fight, some of us want to just stay out of it, fighting brings death, we have gifts...... why fight each other to kill us off." Rukia said back to him then though of his last comment again.
"I choice to wear the neck less the reason i am not telling you." Rukia looked at him seeing he had moved closer, she didn't move but had to stay calm one wrong move and there would be a huge fight, Rukia also was watching him and when the sun should be raising, of course not fighting, there is still the sun, she wasn't going to say she got burned a lot anyway, so if he did try and keep her in the sun she would just get away again.
Rukia didn't think he looked so strong, but she knew he had a reason why he looked that way, to try and fool her, Rukia's neck less finally was see able to where the old cross was seen, Rukia didn't say a word, she didn't care if he saw it but it would of been nice if she could of ketped it in hidden, "Somethings you just can't let go to even if your a vampire." Rukia said finally then saw the sky starting to become lighter, Rukia step back into the darkness to hid from the light of the on coming sun.

The Old One remained silent for a bit, quietly thinking over some of the things he had just heard. As he did, he watched over her cautiously. Though this vampire had no actual way of truly killing him, for he was mostly invulnerable to harm, the was still somewhat a threat. She also did not know of his other powers.
“So what is it that you really want?” he asked, “I have no patience for a half breed to follow me without a reason. If you have not come to fight, or if you have not come to try and feed on me, then what is it exactly that you want? I would like to know that. To not answer would mean you would have a very bad day.”
Madax lifted his gloved right hand into the air, the hand glowing bright before bursting into flames for a few seconds before finally extinguishing itself and leaving his hand without a scratch. Were she to not answer, her dust would be torched along with her.

"Don't kill the vampires." She said calmly back to him, she let her neck less show, she was a different vampire, with unknown secrets, she was different from the rest, she didn't join them, but yet she still cared for them, she wasn't as young as she looked, she did look 25 but was much older then that, as well very wise, "You think your so powerful, i would disagree you are strong, but don't think i am weak just because i choice not to fight." Rukia then added after seeing him make the flame on his right hand, powerful yes indeed..... Rukia though quietly to herself.
"I think no matter what the vampires do they should not get killed away, humans are how we live after all." Rukia let her neck less hang so he could see it, "Not all of us kill for fun, just to live." Rukia knew he wanted a fight, but she still didn't want it, she had no problem with him unless he fought her for feeding on a human. Rukia then answered his question, "To prove i am not joining a side, but living a peaceful life." She touched the cross with her right hand letting it burn her hand, she was a dare devil but doing that so many times, Tt hurt only a minute then not at all. Rukia wasn't going to say her age but she wasn't much younger then him, she was wise of who she picked her fights with. Rukia then added, "I don't feed on demons." She could tell he would want the vampires dead but she gave her answer to him.

Madax watched her clutch the cross, letting it burn her hand, however she thought she had power. That was her first big mistake. She made a bold request, but it was one that Madax could not carry out for her. She above all knew that there could not be peace with the vampires. None of them had a soul, and regardless of what she thought, it was not the fact vampires needed to survive, it was the fact that they fed on humans.
“Regardless of what you may think,” he said, “your kind are souless creatures, and with demons like these roaming around, there can never be peace. What you think of as an act of survival is more to the families of the humans they kill. I’ve come to realize that the evil they do is wrong, and I am going to continue to kill them. Do not cross me vampire, you are not as powerful as you may think, and your doubts about my power are further complicating your odds of surviving.”
Madax turned to walk away from her. She began to annoy him, and her talks of peace sounded good, but the truth is that killing humans was wrong, period. Whether it was the soul talking, or what, Madax did not know, but he did realize his own wrong doings from the past, hoping his atonement will make up for it all. He stopped, turning to face her again.
“And you have no idea how old I am,” he said, “I was long before you and I am going to be beyond you as well! If you value your life, you will never come to me with these talks of peace again. You do not frighten me, nor will you ever.”
With that, Madax began to turn and walk away.

Rukia watched him walk away fine if he doesn't want peace so be it, "Then you will be seeing me again, you won't be killing the vampires, and i bet you were here longer then me, but don't tell me you are stronger, you don't realize i have lot more power then what it seems." Rukia let go of her neck less not following him, she had no need to. Rukia still didn't care for a fight, but she wouldn't stop feeding just to keep him from killing the vampires off, he would die first. Rukia first wanted to test his power, she pulled two daggers out throwing them both aiming for his left shoulder. Lets see how powerful you are...... Rukia's eyes narrowed, if he was as smart as she believed him to be, he would get out of the way, and fight her back.
Rukia pulled another dagger out, being a loner for sometime gave Rukia lots of practice to defend for herself, she didn't care how strong he was she wasn't going to let him kill the vampires, because if he did, he would go for her next, it would be war, so she picked the vampires side for now, even though the cross still was in view, "I never picked a side, but you should never turn you back on a vampire let me, I might just try and hurt you." Rukia put a grin on her face, "You don't need to fear me either." Rukia didn't care if he didn't fear her, as she smirked her fangs could be seen. Rukia got ready to pull another dagger out, first to test his power, then after I'll kill him.

As the daggers came at him like pullets, Madax turned raising his hand out as if to catch them. A wave of energy flew out, slowing the daggers to a screeching halt in mid air. One of his many powers. As he walked past them, a singer dagger pierced the darkness of night, and hit his chest head on. The blade bent against his body upon impact, falling softly to the ground. He slowly shook his head, picked the blade up, and gripped the bent half. With one soft tug, the blade slowly bent back properly. He looked the vampire in her eyes and smiled a bit.
“You just signed your own death warrant half breed,” he said, swiftly snapping his fingers and causing the blades in mid air to pierce through the darkness and hit absolutely nothing, “I don’t care if you are the first vampire, you have no chance at defeating an Old One. If you continue, you will find yourself extinct.”
Madax began to turn again, but as he turned back around, he swiftly turned back to face the vampire, throwing the blade at her with a swift, and vicious throw. The blade moved closer and closer towards her head, moving at a breakneck speed unseen before ever.

Rukia put her right arm up letting it hit her skin, she pulled it out, "Says you only, till after i kill you." Rukia threw the dagger to the ground, no need for it anymore, she saw what she wanted, he'll have to be killed a different way, she decided to get him angry first, she just grinned at him again, She was younger then him yes, and she wasn't the first vampire, but she was pretty old. "I am not the first vampire, but you can say i am pretty old." Rukia said this grinning at him again no fear in her eyes. She knew it was the old one, of the demons she hoped saying that in a bad way would get him mad, First she would get him mad by annoying him, then she would kill him, if not hurt him badly.
"My words seem to annoy you, i take it i am one of the best to do that." Rukia grinned hoping her words were so annoying, that he would get angry at her, she knew what she was doing, she wasn't worried over death, that was his down fall. Rukia just grinned at him again she put the dagger back on her belt, she wasn't going to need it anymore, she walked towards him again she knew the sun would come up soon, and once this was done, he would either be dead or she would get away, being one of the first to get away. She knew that he would get mad once the fight started and she got away, this would be fun indeed.

Madax eyed her again and sighed. Suddenly, the dark streets of Rome began to fill with a monstrous laughter. One that could be heard for miles around, and dark enough to awaken the Pope from his sleep and curiously see what the laughter is about, fearing that the end was beginning. The laughter belonged to Madax as he had read the vampire’s very soul. She thought that she was better than him, and it just killed Madax with laughter. As the dark laughter that sent shivers down the spines of humans, vampires, and demons who heard it, Madax looked at the vampire with a disturbing grin, the kind that would frighten even the Devil himself.
“Common vampire…” he said, “you believe you can kill me? Then go ahead! Try. But it will do you no good, because you do not have the ability to stop me. I’ll kill you before you have the chance to even blink.”
She thought he was better than him. That was a real laugh. No vampire had the power to stand up to the might of a pure demon such as Madax, but if she believed she could, then she was mistaken. Madax read her emotions again, knowing that the laughing might anger her a bit, but for her insolence, he would kill every vampire in Rome before the sun rose, saving her for last.
“Time for a massacre of the guilty,” he said, “and I promise you, it will be horrific.”

"You think i want to kill, No just stop you, besides you won't be killing me either." Rukia needed no more weapons, she needed to figure out his weakness, "You can't die but i bet it will hurt to see your demons fall." Rukia didn't care if he was powerful, she would keep him from killing them even till death. She stood her ground, this might keep me here till the sun comes out, i won't let him kill us all.
She hated his words, yes no chance for peace, not yet anyway. She watched him closely, she didn't need to think, she wasn't going to lost to him, not matter how strong he really was. She looked at him, her eyes showed she wasn't backing down, "I'll fight till the end." She said coldly back to him, "I may die but so will you." Rukia moved some but then stopped she let her neck less be seen again.

Madax stared at the girl with emotionless eyes. There was no thought in them as they looked into her own eyes, however inside he was not just laughing, but also thinking about what she had said about being a very old vampire, and planning on killing fellow demons. She was either there to entertain him, or she was just very stupid. Madax’s eyes closed, and his head tilted towards the sky above. A soft wind brushed against his face, but stopped after a few seconds.
“Do you honestly think I care if you kill demons?” he asked, “You’re really proving to me that you would want peace half breed, and yet you would kill demons just to annoy me? You’re not annoying me, you are just proving to me that you’re nothing then a little vampire wanting attention!”
Madax faced her again, and as he opened his eyes, they were no longer green. Instead, his eyes were a glowing yellow. Suddenly, Madax’s skin started going a bit pale with barely a glowing red aura coming off of him. His body began to consume itself with fire, and when the flames died down, his body went through a change. He now had two blood red leathery wings, about six feet in length when fully expanded. His hands were not replaced with two brass gauntlet talons, and everything from his knees to his feet were armored in the same brass-like armor. Madax gave her a sort of frightening smile, bearing a set of pearly white razor shard fangs. His clothing was now slightly different. A bit tattered, but some of it being clothing that he was not wearing to begin with.
“I just thought of something,” he said to her now, “you claim to be a very old vampire and yet you hold no changes in your face. A vampire that was truly old would have aged past their human features. You may be old, but I would say that you are a good 600-700 if not younger, because any older and you would have aged past your human features.”
Madax then laughed a bit more, then took a few steps towards her. His aura emitted from his body further than it let on. The stone ground that his feet were stepping on aged with every step he took on them. He then stopped when he was face to face with her. “Kill as many demons as you would like half breed,” he said, “you will only succeed in killing some that are truly innocent and just adding more of a reason to why I will kill you. Until then, you are nothing but a vampire wanting attention. Hate to tell you Barbie,” Madax’s tone changed darker, being not just influenced by his natural demon self, but by the soul too, whose combined knowledge gave Madax more of an idea of what he spoke about, “but you are nothing to me, barely even a molecular grain of sand brushing against my skin in the wind. I would suggest you go play miss badass with someone that you could actually win a fight with.”
Madax turned again and began to fly away until turning to face someone else. It wasn’t the vampire, she wasn’t that fast, but rather a very powerful being. The very person Madax had searched for while he was here.
“So at last we meet Slayer.” He said.
