Everything did kind of start with a bang... that is when Dark and Light accidentally merged a part of each other. When this happened, a planet appeared... the mortals call it Telisia. But there is something not right about this world. Something disturbing and wrong. Not evil... not good... just wrong.
The Darkness (Abyss)
After the creation of Telisia, the Darkness submerged itself into one of the lifeless planets that circle the world, in this case, the moon. However, it was greatly wounded during the merging and as it sank itself into the rock, it hollowed out the center and condensed itself to one large black crystal. While not dead, it was hibernating, but its powers seeped out to form a shadow of itself. The mortals call it the Dark one, the Devil, Lucifer... and from this creature the Abyss was created.
The job of the Abyss is to destroy the planet. Not for laughs, but to find out what's hiding in its core, what's hiding deep inside, to take its power and unleash it.
The Light (Haven)
As the Dark sank to the moon, that which was the remains of Light sank into the sun. It created a paradise, a bubble filled with light, with clouds and the most serene lands. Afterwords, it sealed itself within a large white crystal and from that crystal its powers manifested into a creature of purity, but no understanding of sentient emotions. The Mortals called this the Great being.
The job of the Haven is to stop the Abyss from cracking open the planet. It recognizes that whatever is hidden in the planet should never be released as it has enough power to destroy the dimension and possibly dimensions beyond.
The Mortal World
Years and years after the planet was made, creatures began to appear. First there were those who were made from the giving rays of the sun. They are Dragons, Unicorns, the Fae. But after a few millennium past, a new creature from an unknown source of power appeared: Humans. Humans, unlike all the other mortal creatures, had something called a soul. A wonderful source of energy, but potentially dangerous. Humans are said to be the spawn of whatever power is hidden in the planet. The Dark saw this and began taking souls of those who passed away (killed, keeled over... ect.) and harvesting them, sculpting them to fit its own needs. Demons, to be a short summary.
The Light refused to have an army build up on the Abyssal's side and it created a law: those who do not meddle with the dark magics of the Abyss are welcome to a peace after death within the Haven. Angered, the Dark sent servants to the planet to steal souls and spread out threads of curiosity for a human to be lured to the dark arts.
Humans have now been around for about one million years. They evolved from their primitive state and now live in a social world much like our modern days now..
After an epic battle that nearly broke open the planet, the Demons and Angels have recongnized what lays in the planet: Chaos. Chaos is an element, untamable and wild with energies. In some senses, the Demons were glad their plans failed as they wished to learn more about Chaos before releasing it. Chaos is a mix of the Dark and Light... a dimensional parasite.*** ((See powers in Character design in the rules thread))
Currently...
A part of the planet has broken open. Everything in that area no longer exists. Not dead... it's as if it was just wiped clean. The Angels have placed a seal on the crack but it's having problems. Because the Abyss is not ready for the coming of the worlds end, they are taking their part in actually helping the Angels keep the seal on... for now. Of course, the Angels are miffed at this and thus fighting continues on. But another part of the planet is beginning to show symptoms of a crack... it's up to the Demons to get to it first before the Angels.
